Mr. Brian Meier
My years at ERA have provided great opportunities to instruct students in a wide range of classes, including introductory work in Chemistry and Biology, to more advanced work in AP Biology, and even specialized topics like Anatomy and Forensics.
Prior to Eagle Ridge, I spent four years teaching within St. Paul Public Schools. During my time there, I taught 10th-grade Biology, Pre-IB Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology at Harding High School. I also taught 7th-grade Life Science and 8th-grade Earth Science at Battle Creek Middle School.
Before entering the teaching profession, I spent five years working at the University of Minnesota in a molecular biology lab conducting cancer research on budding yeast.
In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing many sports including hockey and soccer (Go Gunners!). I am an avid photographer, and love traveling the globe with my family to capture those amazing (hopefully!) images. This past summer was spent road tripping through parts of the upper Midwest, taking an opportunity to experience some amazing sites with my wife and two children. Recent travels have seen visits to some of the great European cities (London, Dublin, and Amsterdam), the beauty of nature in Iceland, and a month in Thailand experiencing some of the best food and sights in the world. When not traveling by plane, we try to involve our little pup, Lily, in any of our more "local" adventures.
I am currently licensed in Minnesota to teach the following:
